Why I chose medicine: During my senior year in college, I was struggling to figure out a career path that would both be God honoring and also allow me to serve others directly. I was studying the passage of Matthew 25:31-46 in which Jesus gives a parable that demonstrates how God values service to the hungry, thirsty, and the sick. I was encouraged to seek a career in healthcare devoted to serving the underserved. Through my education and career, God has planted in my heart a desire to care specifically for the Hispanic underserved urban population of North Philadelphia.
