What it is: In short, this organization connects exceptional high-school students coming from a socioeconomically disadvantaged background to leading colleges in the country so that they are able to attend for free. 

Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA)

What it is: Similar to QuestBridge but focuses more on underrepresented students at selective colleges. 

Health Professions Scholarships
National Health Service Corps (NHSC)

What it is: The NHSC is run by the U.S. Department of Health Services and Services Administration (HRSA). It provides scholarships and loans to primary care providers in exchange for their time to work in underserved areas. Physicians, dentists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners qualify. 

Research Opportunities
Fulbright U.S. Student Program

What it is: Provides funding to American citizens to study, conduct research, and teach English abroad. Funding is for one year.
